Ernest Getchell, eldest son of Byron P. and Slatte Getchell, of Eilaworth, was drowned Thursday evening near Gotta Island. It appears that Mr. Getchell in com pany with two Italian laborers who were employed as paving cutters on Long Island were crossing to their homes on Black Island in a boat owned and man aged by Teddy Morrill, and when opposite Gotts Island the boat capsized and Mr. Getchell and the two Italians whose mines are unknown, were drowned. Teddy Webber saw the boat upset from the shore and went out at once to the rescue, arriving In time to save Mr. Morrill, the owner of the boat. The bodies have not yet been recovered. Mr. Getchell was about 33 years of age and leaves a wife and children. A most excellent Cream of Tartar substitute retailing at 7 cents per 3jlb., or 25 cents per one lb package is being extensively adver tised by the Compntio Chemical Co., 124 and 126 Broadway, Patterson, N. J. The Wedding Bouquet will be pre sented in Bar Harbor June 1.
