John H. Knowles, David A. Cardwell, and Charles Thompson, three of the oldest citizens of Richmond. The funeral took place today from the Third (colored) Methodist church, Rev, William Troy officiating, and the remains were interred in the colored cemetery beyond the almshouse.Mr. Knowles said today that he marched to Petersburg more than 6fLy-three years ago to the music of Ihmben Whst'a clarinet-, which was heard above the sweet notes of the famous colored baud to which Reuben belonged. The Richmond Light Infantry. Blues, the Payette Artillery, the Washington Rifle Corps of Richmond, and. the Chesterfield Troop were invited, to Petersburg to participate in a Fourih-of-JuIy celebration then* in 1833, and the colored band from Richmond went over with the military.Gov.
