General Lafaytte, arrived at Macon at 12 o’clock on the 30th ult. and was received by the ladies and citizens in lines, on•Bridge-street, near the Ferry. He dismounted from his carriage and was received by the committee appointed for the purpose, and by the commissioners of the town. Ho was welcomed on the Bluff by James B. Fmierson, on behalf of the citizens. A procession was then formed, by which he was conducted to his quartersat the Macon Hotel. He was here waited on and addressed by the Masonic Brethren. He remained in town about two hours and a half, during which, in company with a large number of citizens he partook of a dinner. It was understood, that he would lodge at the Creek Agency, making the whole distance travelled during the day sixty mi let. A note on the post bill from Chattahouchie dated on the 31st says—u General Lafayette passed the Chattahouchie this day.”
