JeIff DEATH AFTER OPERATION.FML HI NORTH W It DM 2 P.M.Mrs. Sarah, Gillett Marsden, age 68 years, wife of the late John Marsden, died at the Holy-Cross Hospital in Salt Lake Monday afternoon, following an operation. She has been in'ill health for,some time. ; , 'Funeral services will fee. held in the North ward church this afternoon at 2 o'clock.Mrs. Marsden was born in this city October 15, 1853* and’ held the distinction of being the second1 child, born in this community,1 Sarah Rowberry being the first.On October-14th of 1872 the then, Sarah Gillett; was united in marriage to John Marsden, and‘to this union' nine children were born, eight of whom live to survive .their mother* namely, Mrs, Walter G. Stewart, of Arko, Idaho, John G. Marsden of Tre-monton, Utah, L. C. Marsden, Squirrel, Idaho, and Mrs. Everett Glenn, Mrs, Willard McLaws, Mrs. LeRoy Shields, Erfie Mars-den, and Mrs.'Harry pojtz, all'of this city.-True to the training of- her parents, Joshua’and Mary Gillett, -who emigrated Jrom,England for the cause of the gospel, she has' been a faithful 'member of the L. D, S. church all of her life, She has-acted as teacher* councilor, and later as president in the N6rth Ward' 'Relief Society, and was president of the Religion Class in the old Tooele ward for two years. Her influence for good has been felt throughout her whole life in the church as well as'the community and many friends mourn her departure.Besides her children, Mrs. Marsden is survived by her brother* Brigham Gillett, and sister, Mrs* Emma Johnson, Twenty grand children and four great-grand children also survive.
