' SCOW KAHU MISSING*-Q-LAST SEEN DURING A STOlttl.• By Telegraph—Press Association.\Vhakatane, April G.■ Fears are entertained that the auxiliary scow Kahn was lost at sea during a storm about ten days ago. She left Opotiki on March 24, and a scow Jiko her was seen by the Tasman to leeward of the Alderman Islands two nights later, at the height of the storm, heading north and seawards. 'She was showing no signs of distress. The heavy weather and approaching darkness would have made it difficult to enter any port. She carries a crew of four—lt;T. Leafeburg (captain), G. Samson (owner and engineer), L, Taylor (deck IirjuI), and a boy as cook. The three men are married f and belong to Auckland. Captain Koff, ; commanding the Wlmkatane Harbour bco v Vesper, was formerly in command of the Kahu, and says she is a fairly good sea boat, but rather wot.w She is. of 25 tons, and has -10 horse-power engines driving twin screws.
