Our WorldPornographers Are WrongBy ANN BROWNThe purveyor* of filth, who have filled our theater* televisions, and textbooks with sordid trash, defend their conduct by claiming they are presenting life as it is, giving the public what it wants and it’s the only way to make money They are wrong on all three counts.For every lazy thief skulking in the night, there are dozens of hard working men laboring to support their families, and in crease the gross national product.For every embezzler there are dozens of bankers meticulously guarding their clients' accounts For every thug con man, and ehiseler preying on the public there are dedicated pastors, teachers, doctors, and nurses laboring unceasingly for the con solation, welfare, and comfort of humanity.For every mother who abuses and neglects her children, there are others who sacrifice* their lives for their families And for every home that is demolished by weak, selfish, irresponsible mates two are kept together by people wise enough and strong enough to subject their personal desires to the will of (iod, and the welfare of their families and society As for giving the public what it wants, ask the cable television subscriber why he’s willing to pay when free TV is available The most common answer is that he wants to avoid the propaganda homogenizing crime, violence, and filth pouring I rum the three free channels A little analyzing of the most successful TV shews should con vinre any open minded producer that the public wants wholesomeentertainment The most beloved TV series of all time is I l»ve Lucy The reruns are still seen m almost every viewing area in the world What makes Lucy so popular?
