High point riders in the Yucca Riding Club show last Saturday were Ricky Easley on Kissie in the six and under class; Estelle Bellows on Rusty, 7-9; Sue Bellows on Cinder, 10-13; Virgil Proctor on Keno Jo, 14-17, and Joe Tietjen on Mister Retaliation, 18 and over. Awards were gift certificates from the Fence Post in Los Lunas. More than 150 entries were recorded. “Agnew” the sportsmanship traveling trophy was awarded to Doyle Williams of Bosque Farms. It will be awarded each month to an individual showing exceptionally good sportsmanship during a show and a permanent sportsmanship trophy will be awarded at the end of the year. Bo Diddley and Cookie Vee, recording artists and Valley residents, entertained during the intermission. Winners in each class are listed in order of placing.
