April 22nd. the state board of land com ml si Honors of this »*a*o will hold n special session In , Hoise for rho purpose of finally deciding upon a policy to adopt, relative to the leaning of grazing lands.I Several meetings of the l»oard have 1 taken place in the past few weeks when this matter has been up for conslder-1 at ion. At these meetings a few farmers and large and small stock gr* era have been present and have entered objections to the board leasing 1 lands In conflict with the two-inlie-11 in M law and with the priority right‘ ! law.The sheepmen argued that It was unfair to block them from the range even by the two-mlle-limlt law or by the const ruction placed on the law . that they could not bid on and secure state lands under a lease within ‘ cattle range.It waH the claim of the cattlementhat the state land board members,1 have lt;hanged front with regard to the „ two-inlle-llmlt law and that while they appctrcd some time ngo to favor the I leasing of no state land within the y two-mlle-llmlt to sheep men. the rule submitted for consideration at the lust ,1 meeting seems to favor doing Mils. tf The Idaho On tie and Horse Growlers* association. recently formed at l*o-n ea'ello Idaho, wll have present at the next meeting, on the 22nd of April, Its y executive board, and tin* secretary, I,. Dillingham, Is making nil effort to have as many stockmen and farmers it present at the meeting as plt;»slsble. and in Interviews published throughout the .r s’a»e .sets forfli that the rule to lease * such land would put hundreds of the state's farmers and small stock men I- out of business, as such grazing woud destroy the protection afforded thorn through the two-mile-llmlt law and the priority of right law. which t- were primarily enacted for their bene-ilt and to encourage the reclamation lt;f t- latids In the state. The association Is considers the meeting of vital importance to the stockmen and farmers in and is urging all to attend the meeting who can possibly do so.•e i On April 21st representatives will n- meet In HoIbc to discuss the sltua-I • n before going before the land gs board.
