THATCHER,April 5.—The married people’s dance given by the Relief so ciety on Friday evening, was a grand success. The dance started promptly at S o'clock, the Academy orchestra fur nishing the music. At 9 o’clock, about sixty couples joined the grand march. The dancing was interspersed with a recitation by Eleanor Peterson, two ecomic songs by Daniel Kemp, and a recitation by Mrs. Josephine Kimball. Ice cream and crackers were sold by the Relief society. The vim, interest and enjoyment of the married people, made it a great social success. The ten-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Skaggs died Saturday evening with the measles. He had been a frail, delicate child all his life, and though every care was taken of him when he took the measles, it proved to be much for his delicate constitution. Funeral services were held at the home on Monday af ternoon, Bishop Frank Tyler conducting the meeting. A house full of friends and relatives were present, and some good talks of condolence were made. The remains were interred in the Thatcher cemetery. Mrs. Laura Nuttall, Mrs. Lucinda Gustafson, Mrs. Sarah Webb, Miss Eth elin Cluff, and Roy Selene of Pima were visitors at the Thatcher M. I. A. on Sunday evening. Mrs. Gale, a mother of Mrs. Martin Mortensen, is down from Franklyn vis iting with her daughter for a few weeks. R. W. Fuller, Otto Christensen and Miss Montforth were voted in as mem bers of the Thatcher ward Sunday. Miss Viola Freeland went to Globe on Saturday's train, and came back Monday morning. Mrs. Inez Lee, and Misses Vima, Edna and Lela Lee, accompanied by Miss Lane, Miss Clara Nash, Anna Had sell and Hazel Moody, went out to Lee’s goat ranch to see the new shear ing machine work, Saturday. They were treated to a good dinner, had a peasant outing, and thought the sheep shearing machine a sight worth seeing. A fine large baby boy came to the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Raybourn on Monday. Mother and child are do ing well The Thatcher creamery closed Mon day on account of shortage of milk. The company will no doubt obtain new milk customers and open up again in the near future.
