Miss Ridenour Married.The Denver, Colorado Daily News, of March 26, contains a splendid half tone engraving of Miss Stella Ridenour, well known here and a neice of J. E. LaRue, and Ole Upson, a newspaper man, to whom Miss Ridenour was married on the 25th. The Argus prefers to tell of the marriage as told by the News as follows: “Ole Upson, a newspaper man of a dozen years’ experience in Colorado and New Mexico, was married yesterday to Miss Stella W. Ridenour at the home of her mother, Mrs. John Ridenour, 1109 Tenth street. It was a quiet home wedding, witnessed only by the intimate friends of the bride’s family. Rev. A. A. Johnson, chaplain of the senate and pastor of St. James’ M. E. church, officiated. Miss Ridenour wore a traveling suit of dark blue lady’s cloth with hat to match. She was given away by her mother. Friends accompanied the couple to the depot, where thej were pelted with rice before leaving for Laramie, Wyo., on the 4:45 o’clock train.Mr. Upson was a compositor on The News ten years ago and is well known in Denver. He arose from the ranks by persistent application and recently bought into the Laramie Boomerang, of which he takes control with his business partner next month. He has been connected with several papers in Colorado and New Mexico, both in the mechanical and editorial branches. After arranging his new venture in Laramie he decided to enter upon it not alone. Saturday he telegraphed to Miss Ridenour, to whom he had been engaged for some time, and the wedding was quickly and unexpectedly arranged.Miss Ridenour is a handsome young woman with a charming voice that has been heard for several years in St. James’ M. E. church, where she has been the leading soprano. For ten years she has resided in West Denver, where she bad a great number of friends. There were many handsome presents, despite the sudden arrangement of the wedding. Young ladies of the Howland Millinery company, where Miss Ridenour had been engaged, presented a tea set of Haviland china, and many similarly beautiful remembrances were received.
