Elinor C. RogersDOVER — Elinor C. Rogers, 91, died Thursday, March 31,2005, at Langdon Place of Dover where she had resided for the past 12 years.She was born July 27, 1913, in Ridgefield Park, N.J, the daughter of Ranse and Elsie (Missenharter) Rogers.She lived in Staten Island, N.Y., from 1917 MOREuntil 1993 before coming to Dover. OBITUARIESShe was a graduate of Tottenville High Page A12School, Staten Island, N.Y., and attended Pace University.Miss Rogers was an executive secretary with American District Telegraph, starting during the Great Depression. By the time she retired in 1978, ADT was located on the 90th floor of the World Trade Center.She was a member and an active volunteer of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Staten Island.She was an avid gardener and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was a bird-watching enthusiast and a dog lover.She is survived by two nephews, Dr. Roger A. Evans of Durham and Dr. Francis C. Evans of Palm Coast, Fla.; two nieces, Rose-marvGarr of Potomac, Md., and Priscilla Pouchet of Homestead, Fla.; and 10 great-nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by one sister, Elsa Evans, who died in 1993.There will be no visiting hours.A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 9, at 2 p.m., in St. George’s Episcopal Church, Durham, with the Rev. Michael Bradley officiating.
