Peasleeville Soldier, Pvt.*Stewart, KilledPvt. Harry Stewart, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Stewart of Peasleeville, has been reported killed in action in the European theatre of operations. The date of his death was, not announced but it is believed he met death during the Normandy invasion. He was reported missing in action on June 22. His wife, the former Florence Pelkey of Peru, and his parents were notified of his death by the War Department. Other survivors are his 20-month-old daughter, Patricia Ann, two sisters, Beverly and Sandra Stewart of Peasleeville, and one brother, Cpl. John Stewart, serving in India. Pvt. Stewart entered the service March 9, 1943, and served with a paratrooper unit in the Normandy invasion.1
