I Former Students Write in Praise of Decker! Two tetters from former students | of the Pa rowan High School and of j Mr. Decker, came to the Times Of-jfice during the week with an inti' mation, at least, that the writers would like them published. We are glad to give them to our readers, as follows:1 As a former student of IvanDecker, and a graduate of the Far-owan High school I am writing thisletter*I It was with deep concern that I read of his dismissal*My opinion may not count in itself—hut please believe me whenII say I know that my classmates! would feel the same as I, were they to voice an opinion wherever they are. There isn't a student Mr. Decker has taught, but has the highestregard for his ability. If anyone cannot understand him I dare say it's their fault and no fault of his* The things he taught me are withme yet. No—I don’t mean figuresand meaningless words from books. Somehow he managed to pound a few good sound principles into this head, and believe me I appreciateit'That’s why, when I know thatmany of his past pupils feel as I do, I can’t sit with folded handsand keep my nose out”. It Is too I darn unfair to see a man as fine os he let out” (so to speak) after theIvears of whole-hearted service heI Thas given to Parowan, the community and High school. If this letter seems a little, heated” please forgive because T writeIn all sincerity,Afton Thornton Werner,218 N 11th St,j Las Vegas, Nevada ji * * * -
