KIXF GrantTo IncreaseRadio PowerRadio station KIXF in Fortuna has received a grant from the Federal CommunicationsognvtoPcSISystem to increase itsfrom 1000 watts to 10.000The station will also change its frequency from 1200 kc to 1090 kc This assignment will make KIXF the most powerfulbroadcast voice in California, north of San Francisco, and will also be Humboldt County's first i clear channel stationApproximately $25,000in broadcast equipment must be installed in order to make the change possible Installation of this equipment and testing; •hould be within about 90 days.Dale A Owens, owner and general manager of KIXF, said that this will enable listeners in Eureka and outlying areas, such as Garberville, to receive the station well.Nebraska is the only state inthe Union to have a unicameral legislature.
