Upwards of 350 persons have made reservations for the Yolo County Products Banquet this evening, ac cording to announcement this after noon by H. S Maddox, secretary of the Yolo County Board of Trade, to whom most of the credit belongs for engineering and carrying out the de tails of the booster fest Men and ‘women from all sections of the county have responded to the general invita tion extended to the public, to meet and talk over affairs and events of Neonuine interest to this entire com munity. ‘The death knell of Colonel Blue and Mr. and Mrs. Hammer and family will be founded for all times. A spirit of act and do will be inspired by the ‘speakers, among whom will be C. F. Stern and Harris Weinstock. G. W. Pierce of Davis, as toastmaster, is primed for the occasion and he will deliver a message of general signifi cance. The menu, consisting of roast tur key with all the trimmin’s, will be served on a bevy of bewitching young ladies. All of the eatables will be local products. The special contribu tions will include milk and cream from the prize Holstein herd of A. W. Mor ris, cheese from the University Farm, butter from the Woodland Creamery Company and coffee from Johnston Bros. The first course will be served at 7:30. ‘The entertaining feature of the ev ening, which has been left to the Davis Farm students, promises to be something out of the ordinary. Dispatches from Chico today # ed the information that + Rev. Madison Slaughter, whose # second trial on a charge of un- # ® due intimacy toward a young # + girl will begin next Tuesday, will conduct night prayer meet ing tomorrow night as usual. He will not occupy his church pulpit, however, the dispatches say until all of the five immorality indictments are di posed of. Members of Slaugh ter’s church are quoted as say ing that those parishioners who testified for the prosecution will be omitted from the church. 7 Another alleged bootlegger, Cap tain Charles McArthur of the trading vessel, the Gretta A, was today held to answer to the superior court of Yolo county by Justice Ball, ‘The payment of $500 bonds enabled McArthur to go free pending his ar raignment in the superior court. John McArthur, brother of the skip per, was discharged from custody, it being deemed that the evidence against him was insufficient to warrant con viction. Captain McArthur has engaged At torneys Armfield and Eddy to defend him, District Attorney McDonald is conducting the prosecution, Detective Casey was the chief witness against the defendants this morning.
