We, as Democrats return our sincere thanks to our liberal Republican friends for their co-operation with us in helping to elect our township ticket, ANONYMOUS. At the election on Monday last when the vote was counted out the re sult was unexpected to a great many of our citizens, as it was almost the Unanimous opinion that Mr. Gibbs would be elected, and such also was our opinion. The greenback ticket, however, triumphed, and though we would have wished it otherwise, we extend to the successful candidate, J. A Garner, our congratulations, and hope he will make a good and efficient officer, as we have no doubt he will. It does us good to hear of the elec tion of our old friends Benj. Dunkel berger of Jackson, and Frank Yeager of Oregon townships, to the office of township Trustees. They are both sound Democrats, and honest and worthy men.Men who will be a tower of strength to the Democratic party.
