Walker, the third MCPON from September 1975 to September 1979, was responsible for paving the way for the later establishment of the Senior Enlisted Academy, amid much opposition in 1981.His efforts increased enlisted education and training to help shape the Navy into a more versatile and educated force.Alter a successful 30-year naval career, MCPON Walker retired in 1979 and currently Jives in Virginia Beach, Va.For over 25 years, SEA has educated senior enlisted leaders in diverse subjects, including public speaking, written communication, leadership, national security affairs, and current business practices.Since its inception, senior enlisted leaders from all services and multiple partnership countries have been graduated from the academy, the capstone of naval senior enlisted leadership.The third Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy, Robert J.
