James Wilkins, Colored, Shot and Killed at a Dance. (Special Dispatch to The Times,) VIRGILINA, VA., April 2.—James Wil kins was shot by Robert Owen at 2 frolia last night and died this morning from the effects of the wound. Both parties are colored. Wilkins has had quite a remarkable career. He was known as a desperate character, a moonshiner and a gambler. He had been many a time the object of a still hunt by the revenue officers, was captured several times, but always suc ceeded in making his escape. It is said that after he received his death wound he seized a club and made a desperate effort to kill everyone whom he could reach, and succeeded in serious ly hurting two or three. He seaves con siderable property.
