Knppwood read the funeral fervice in a very impreffive and affecting manner, and the Afhes of our Departed Friend were about 4 o’Clock configned to the filent Grave, with the ufual Military Honours. ,' The Remains of the Governor were depofited in'a brick vault, built purpofely on the fpot he had frequently, pointed out as the fcite of a Church—and over it the Commanding Officer intends immediately to erect one, the vault being directly under the altar.On the following Sunday (the ift Inft.) an Appropriate Sermon was preached on the oecafion by Mr. Knopwood, to a very numerous auditory; in the large room of Government houfe, from Rev. the 14th chap. and 13th Vcrfe.Printed by G.
