FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH NEWSA special service in observance of the Lord’s Supper will be held at the church Thursday night at 8 o’clock. The Board of Deacons will be present to assist the paster in serving the Supper, The service will be by candlelight.Soft music will mark the hour of worship.The regular Easter morning service will be held Sunday morning at 11 o’clock, the serv ice being broadcast at 12:15 over VVKMT.At the end of the morning service a special service of Dedication will be held for Master David Fletcher Hord, III, son of Dr. and Mrs. D. F, Hord, Jr., and Master Jack Hutchins White, Jr., son of Judge and Mrs. Jack White.Sunday night at the worship hour, 7:30 p. m,( the ordinance of Baptism will be administered to several candidates, appropriately closing Easter Sunday.Fir*t Baptist Church was happy to receive into its membership Sunday, March 22nd, Miss Rose Malcolm, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Malcolm. On Sunday, March 29 the church took further delight in receiving David Roberts. son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Roberts, Tony Hampton, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Hampton, and Steve Henderson, son of Mr, and Mrs. Ray Henderson, On Sunday, March 22nd, the church was also happy to receive Mrs. Leona Atkinson, formerly of Wilmington,The services of Sunday night were conducted by the leaders of the Baptist Training Union department. It featured colored film scenes depicting the hours of Christ leading up to the Cruci-fiction. Beautifully supplementing the scenes were the musical messages of two groups, a duet by Martha Cox and Louise Gladden: Up Calvary’s Mountain.” A quartet, composed of Melba Tindall, Louise Gladden, Rowell Lane, and Donald Hambright sang When I Survey the Wpn* dermis Cross.” It was a Very impressive program, presented at the church hour so that the larger audience could hear It.Next Tuesday, April 7, the Woman’s Missionary Society will meet at the church at 3:30 in the afternoon.At four o'clock the same afternoon the Junior Girls' Auxiliary will meet at the church for departure to Lake Crawford where they will have a welner roast, Mrs. Yates Harbison is the leader of this splendid group of girls, averaging 28 in attendance at each meeting.i
