Mr. Levi and Miss and I were the lucky ones in ‘Mr. Levi receiving a box of tonery and Miss Hilderbrandt a fruit dish. Lloyd Busby was awarded a pocket dictionary, for his ability to hearts. Webb will be solemn ized at the First Christian church to night at 9 o'clock. Owing to illness in the family the wedding will be a et affair. The ceremony will be stformed by Rev. S. P. Spiegel, while Ms. Spiegel will play the wedding match. Miss Locke will wear a lovely gown of gray taffeta with shoes and gloves to match. A gray hat, touched with blue, will complete the attire and a shower bouquet of bride’s roses car ried. W. B. Locke and Frank Smith will serve as ushers. The happy couple will be at home with the bride’s mother, at 204 St. Michael street. nng RY CLUB BANQUET IJOYABLE AFFAIR. A banquet given by the Rotary Club Thursday night in the handsome dining room of the Battle House, was most delightful affair in which the yes in-Rotary and a few invited ests were included. The guest of onor was Albmy D. Albert, of Minne apolis, president of the International Rotary Clubs. Mr. Albert gave a won derfully inspiring talk on “Breadth of Rotary,” making a profound impres sion on his hearers, who gave him an ovation at the conclusion of his ad dress. Seated at the table with the honor guest were the president of the club, Mr. Palmer Pillans, and Mrs. Pil lans; the secretary, H. W. Taylor, and Mrs. Taylor, with other officers of the club and their wives. The dinner was beautifully served in six course, and so delightful are these banquets in which the ladies are included they are becoming a much anticipated pleasure. MISS GLIDDEN WILL STUDY VOCAL. Miss Claudia Glidden, who has a rare sweet voice for one so young, is leaving today to study vocal under Madame Lorraine, of Birmingham, Ala, MRS. CHAPPELLE CORY WILL MAKE ADDRESS OF WELCOME. The Daughters of the Confederacy and the veterans of Mobile are well pleased at the selection of Mrs. Chap pelle Cory to give the official welcome to the veterans on behalf of the daugh ters, at the annual reunion which will be held next month in Birmingham. Mrs. Cory has for years been an active worker for the veterans, doing much to promote their cause. She was endorsed by both the camps of her own city, and when the question was referred to the eight chapters of U. D. C. she was elected by a vote of five to three. MRS. R. V. TAYLOR COMPLIMENTS BARONESS DI RIVIERE, Madame di Riviere was the recipient of a delightful compliment Saturday morning when Mrs. R. V. Taylor in vited her to spend the morning in her hospitable home, and gave her a com plete surprise, in the nature of a birth day party. Madame is convalescing from a recent illness, and her friends were as happy as she in the enjoy ment of the day. The hostess had dec orated her home in the beautiful dog wood blossoms, and at 11 o'clock the guests arrived and spent the morning in sewing and listening to some of the romance which has shed its halo all through the life of the honored guest. At 1 o’clock a four-course luncheon was served in the elegant dining-room of the home. Each of the guests had brought a remembrance of the day and wished for their friend many happy returns.
