BE3QPBD A WOMAN.Constable O»tnndoi; of Manilas Station Saves a Demented 1* arson.Yesterday morning Constable Joseph E. Ostrander bt Manlius Station, was notified by a farmer. in the. vicinity that a strange acting woman was walking eastward on the New York Central tracks. Mr. Ostrander immediately started on the trail and overtook i a woman who answered the description furnished by. his informant. The Constable says that he was just in time to save the woman from being struck by an east bound train. The woman was well dressed, fairly good looking, and apparently forty years ot age. Mr, Ostrander arrested her and brought her before Justice of the Peace Potter of Manlius Station. By her strange talk and actions it was judged that she was a lunatic, and Constable Ostrander was detailed to bring her to this city and refer the j case to the county poor authorities. This the constable did , and the woman Is now lodged In the Court House awaiting an examination as to* her sanity. The only clew as to her Identity is a, receipt, for fifty cents which was found in her pocket from the firm of Dey Brothers Company to Lillian E. Flynn. She talks incoherently of her lover, her money, and some one who has abused her, Constable Ostrander says that he believes her to be a woman known as Miss Eno who formerly worked at the DixOn House. At the hotel it was said that a woman of that, name had worked there dnci had several times been' placed In an asylum and discharged as cured. A Herald reported talked with the unfortunate woman this afternoon and tried to ascertain her name.. “Is that your nans he asked referring fto the receipt..i.**L stands for Lillian and Ffor Flynn doesn’t It,” was thejonly answer.
