Tra-peze:A new SONO BistroPerry Porricelli, John Porricelli, Paul Thielecke and Wendy Logan Porricelli will open TRAPEZE Bistro Bar in historic SONO in mid-March. Tra peze is located at 18 South Main Street. The restaurant will serve hearty, homey, contemporary fare at reasonable prices and will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.A veteran of the restaurant and entertainment business, Perry Porricelli discovered SONO through a vast network of relatives who live across Fairfield County, particularly in Norwalk and Greenwich He and his brother John are nephews of Jerry Porricelli, the successful Greenwich businessman who founded the Food Mart stores, located in Greenwich and Cos Cob.Perry is the former owner of the Atomicafe, a high visibility upper east side Manhattan restaurant which he sold in the late 80s. Having spent the last eight years as a restaurant consultant and owner of a thriving entertainment booking operation in New England, Porricelli is returning to the restaurant business as a working partner at TRA-PEZE.John Porricelli, a New York-based independent financial consultant, will be the group's business manager as well as a working partner Paul Thielecke, also a workingpartner, has ten years’ experience in restaurant and bar management and promotions. His Manhattan resume includes positions at such well-known dining spots as Isabella’s and Wildlife on the Upper West Side, and at Boom in SoHo. He has also worked at some of the city’s hottest clubs, including The Amazon and Webster Hall.Wendy Logan Porricelli, Perry’s wife, will handle all marketing and communications and public relations activities for TRA-PEZE.At the helm of the TRA-PEZE kitchen is Canadian-born Chef Marc Bacci, who began his culinary career at the age of ten and was made executive chef by age 17. By the time he reached 21, Baca's food was rated in the top ten restaurants out of 100 in Toronto by the Toronto Restaurant Guide.Bacci has studied with such renowned chefs as New Orleans’ Paul Prudhomme, Didier Leroy and Arpi Magri. Most recently, he worked with Geoffrey Murray, chef/owner of the restaurant Boom in Manhattan’s SoHo district.Bacci’s cooking style has evolved over the years from what he calls “food as art” to a “more honest” approach.His culinary creations are simple,Toasting the near future opening of Tra-Peze, an Italian bistro on South Main in Norwalk we owners Wendy Porricelli, Paul Thielecke, Perry Porricelli and John Porcelli.Photo by Steffen. Customers at TRA-PEZE can expect to see such appetizers as crispy potato pancakes with smoked salmon, sour cream and caviar, and baked polenta with mushrooms, three cheeses, fresh herbs and tomato sauce. Entrees include roasted chicken with mushrooms, apple-smoked bacon and brown butter mashed potatoes, and steamed mussels, clams and prawnscooked with white wine, sweet and spicy peppers, and fresh herbs.Entrees will range in price from $7 to $16. A special lunch menu, to include the signature house soup and any entree will be reasonably priced at $7.95.
