Sedillo, Esquibel both in DA raceRAI L SEDILLOHelen lawyer Raul Sedillo has officially announced his candidacy for district attorney of District 13.Sedillo joins Helen Attorney John Hope and Asst. District Attorney Timothy Woolston as contenders for that office on the Democratic side.I feel that my background and experience qualify me for this very important and responsible position. Sedillo said.Sedillo has practiced law in Helen for the past two years, specializing in civil and criminal suits. He has served as an assistant district attorney in both the 1 .’Ith Jucicial District and the First Judicial District.Sedillo received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and received his law degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1%H.He has been a law clerk for the New Mexico Court of Appeals in Santa Ke, served as director on the Attorney (ienerul's narcotics unit and taught at the University of Albu querque, in 1971 and 1975.He is a graduate of Helen High. He is married to the former DianeITDM ESDI IB ElTom Esquibel, district attorneys coordinator for the state, has announced his candidacy for district attorney of the 13th Judicial District in the Democratic primary.Esquibel is a recent graduate of the University of New Mexico's Law School. He passed the state bar exam in July of 1975. He graduated from Hleen High in 19lt;iH.“I've decided to run because I'm a lifelong resident of the district and I feel people need a more responsibU district attorney, Esquibel said, lie said hi* grew up in Helen, but he and his wife, the former Ruby Sanchez, now reside in Los Lunas.1 feel what I can offer as a district attorney is an office which is responsible to the needs in both Sandoval and Valencia Counties, he said.Esquibel said that his prime objective if elected would •*» to “lower the crime rate in \ ah lt;cia County.
