To Sponsor AmateurDALLAS tSpl-1 — An amateur photographic contest will be a new feature of the- ,1358 State Fair of Texas, Oct. 4-19.The contest will be sponsored by the Fair’s Women’s . Department and winning entries will be displayed in the Women’s Building during the Fair.The contest will be open only to amateur photographers who are residents of the state of Texas.Mrs’ Leah Jarrett. director of the Women's Department, said the black-and-white print division will have categories for landscape, pictorial, portrait, still life and general subject matter. .Color prints will be_ entered in ;the landscape, pictorial, portrait and still life classes.One tri-color- ribbon- will be awarded for Best of Snow in black-and-white print section, and one in color print section._Rules provide that entries in the black-and-white section must be complete work of the entrant. Prints may be of any size, but must be mounted on 16x20 inch mats.Deadline for receiving all entries in the contest will be Sept. 2, 1958. Only prints receiving premium awards and honorable mention will be exhibited during the fair.Co-sponsoring the contest with the State Fair will be the Dallas Camera club, which is affiliated with!-the Photographic Society of America. Mrs. George Henry, president of the Dallas Camera club, is chairman of the contest committee and members are Otis L., Hendricks and. Ben H.
