BUXTON (4) — When dial tele phone service was inaugurated to day by the Saco River Telegraph Pres. Samuel B. Shepard were the first official call. The new office building is dedi cated to Miss Mary B. Shepard, who died a year ago after serving more than 50 years as manager and treasurer of the state’s oldest independent telephone company. The company, founded in 1889, serves about 1,060 subscribers in Buxton, Waterboro, Hollis and parts of Shapleigh, Eyman and Saco.
