BY J. FP. GALLAGHER RUN VALLEY, April 1 (Special —With the coming of spring, and summer not too far off, plans are becoming concrete in Sun Valley for various changes and improve ments. Most notable is perhaps the in tention of the administration to change the policy of the lodge for the summer season which starts July 15. During the summer sea son, the lodge will be operated on the European plan. This entails a new schedule of room rates, and a different assortment of menus and prices in the dining room, which will, naturally, stick to the same high standard. This is being done in deference to the popularity of cabin and picnic lunches in the summer. Of course, With the begin ning of the next winter season, the Judge will go back on the American plan. Golf Course The golf course will be com pleted and ready for play this summer, probably about Aug. 1, ac cording to William P. Bell, golf architect from Pasadena, who is in charge of its construction. Work was started on the course last fall, and already most of the elaborate hoseless sprinkling system has been installed, and a goodly part of the grading is complete. The fair ways will be sown with blue grass, and the greens with Coos county creeping bent. The first tee of this 18-tee nine hole course, is close to the Chal lenger, and the course crosses and recrosses Trail creek to make a very impressive 72 par course. Right at present the golf course is cov ered with a three-foot blanket of mow, and serves as a right smart langlaul course. Mem word Ponds Then in addition to the golf course there will be piney of land scaping and three planting around the new Challenger Inn, with a few more ponds tossed hither and yon. There will be plenty of rustic trails and hidden seats for the ro mantically inclined, and flowers spilling all over everywhere. A chil dren’s sand-pile playground will be added to the general terrain, and canoes and row boats will be placed in Trail creek lake. Of course, there will be Plenty of fishing featured this summer, with the services offered of such capable guides as Art Wood, Ray Mark, Taylor Williams, “Stu” B Stew art and Ellis Chapin. And there will be an abundance of pack trips un der the dance of people like Mike Finch, Hugh Bradford, Har ry Fleming and John Thompson, and the peer of them all, Stanley Placer Mining, too But the latest gadget for the amusement of summer guests is the
