COOL SPRINGS GRAMMARGRADE DEBATING CONTESTThe handsome sixteen-inch silver cup which The Farmers Bank Trust Company donated to encourage better debating in the Cool Springs schools has stirred the debaters very much. As a result of this prize each team is trying in every way possible to be the winner in order to get their name engraved on the cup.The contest included eight teams and sixteen debaters. The first elimination series was held Thursday, March 25th. Alexander’s negative team debated Forest City’s affirmative team at Bostic. The affirmative team from Alexander debated the Forest City’s negative team at Mt. Pleasant. The Bostic affirmative team debated the Mt. Pleasant negative team at Forest City. The Mt. Pleasant affirmative debated the Bostic negative team at Alexander. The judges reported that all of the teams did good debating. This contest eliminated four teams. „ The affirmative teams from Bostic, Mt. Pleasant and Forest City were winners. The negative team from Forest City was also victorious.Bostic’s affirmative team will debate Mt. Pleasant’s negative team at an early date.
