A Profitable Idaho Poultry Farm.April Poultry, which is edited by Miller Purvis, tho poultry breeder and judge, has an interesting write up of a “Profitable Idaho Poultry Ranch.” This Is tho poultry farm and orchard of L. Schmitchger, of Boise, and the story is a nice one. showing what one with Mr. Schmitchger’s ability and industry can do in a country like Idaho, even if ho has to begin with exactly $100 cash and a team of horses. The story in brief is that he started 12 years ago with the above money capital, buying a 20 acre tract upon which there was a young prune orchard. To make a few words of it, Mr. Smitchger has prospered and is recognized not only as a successful fruit grower, but an expert with the business hen. Last year he received more than $7,000 for the products of his farm, in eggs, fowls, prunes and raspberries. The article in Poultry is illustrated and certainly makes interesting reading.
