ALAMITOS BAY, March 31.—Frank R. Strong has, it is said, purchased the Channel club house, which is a two- story structure beautifully finished, furnished and decorated. He will soon decide to what use he will put it. A. 8. Abbot of the Los Angeles Hard Ware company is having a cruising launch built by the Ross Marine com pany of this place. It will be thirty eight feet in length and will have a glass cabin, with sleeping accommoda tions for eight people. The same firm is building a speed launch for A. C. Parsons of Naples, to be finished in solid mahogany and equipped with an auto wheel and controller, Mrs. E. 8. Whiting also has a speed boat being built by the Ross Marine company which, when completed, is expected to be the fastest boat of its size on this coast. . One hundred and fifty boats on the bay are being overhauled, painted and otherwise decorated in order to be ‘ready for the pleasure seekers who usually come here every summer for their rowing and sailing. The Naples part of the bay has been raised above high water mark by cut ting canals and filling up the land ad joining, and several fine dwellings have been built upon these lots. The West Naples part of the bay has a monster dredger at work night and day converting the marsh into the same condition, and soon the home of the wild ducks will be a gay summer resort. . The hotels and rooming houses are all doing a good business and have been doing so all winter. They are wonder ing where the summer visitors are go ing to find quarters.
