TV Station; Announces Transaction' Sale of a working interest in KIVA-TV to Allen Theatres, Inc., and Marty Ball, sales manager of the station, was announced today by Jerry Proctor, station manager, t The purchase price was not announced. The transaction in-s eludes an option which, if i exercised in about a year, o would allow Allen Theatres [- and Ball to acquire full ownership of the station, s Proctor said, “I look forward h to this broadened base of local d ownership to further integrate 3, the station into the community and surrounding area. It will w enable KIVA-TV to furtherp improve its service ... by r. allowing for additional ex-e pansion of station facilities. it The tv station went on the t air Oct. 20, 1972, with a power •n of 38,000 watts on channel 12. U The station is viewed on Farm-n ington cable on channel 10. irf Proctor said action is ex-ill peeled shortly on a power c- increase application which will is increase the station's coverage by almost 50 per cent. A new ill lO^watt translator is currently under construction which will ?d expand the station’s audience is- into the Gallup area for the first time, Proctor added.
