(AP Wirephoto.)Fischer QuintupletsObserve Fifth BirthdayABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) — The Fischer quintuplets, whose birth brought almost immediate wealth and Social Security numbers before they were 6 months old, observed their fifth birthday Saturday. If it was like previous birthdays for the four girls and boy, it was a quiet, family-only event in the Fischers* 20-room farmhouse on the prairie about one mile southwest of Aberdeen. The birthday cake was a gift from a local bakery, which also provides birthday cakes for the other Fischer youngsters.. Four years ago, this farming center of 25,000 planned a big civic event to mark the quints* first birthday. It was cancelled at the request of the family.Home to the quints and the other six children of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Fischer is aposh, 72 by 44-foot house surrounded by trees, shrubbery and flowers. It's also the headquarters for Fischer's 800-acre cattle raising operation. The quints have lived in relative seclusion since the news of their birth in the early morning hours of Sept. 14, 1963, made them public figures.Dr. James Berbos, who brought the quints into the world within the space of 63 minutes, now lives at Fullerton, Calif. He visited the Fischers several weeks ago and said the quints “are in every way just ordinary kids. They’ve had the mumps and now they’re ready to go to school.”Dr, Berbos said he did not realize Mrs. Fischer would give birth to quintuplets until threedays before the operation. *Td deli’livered twins before, but never quints,” he said. It really wasn’t much different, just a little more complicated.”Perhaps it was the traumaticPolice Tow Away Armored Cash TruckLONDON (AP) - Police knew all about the case when an armored money truck was reported stolen. It's natural for them to want their children to grow up naturally.”James Andrew, Mary Margaret, Mary Magdalen, Mary Catherine and Mary Ann are as lively and interesting as any 5-year-olds, according to family friends. The quints were barely old enough to begin kindergarten this fall but they did not enter school. Perhaps their sister, Cynthia Marie, who will be 4 in a few days, will make it a sixfold exodus to the classroom next autumn.Life has changed markedly for the Fischers since the quintuplets were born. The red-haired mother, now 35, canned 100 quarts of pickles from her big garden in the summer of 1963. Andrew J. Fischer, eight years older than, his wife, was a $76*per*week shipping clerk. They had a cow, five children, and rented a ramshackle house one mile from the city. After intense bidding, exclusive contracts were signed with certain magazines and advertising media giving the Fischers an estimated annual income of up to $250,000. The bulk of it goes Into a trust fund for the nine girls and two boys.A local firm gives the Fischers $110 for toys each year. Mrs. Fischer goes to the store in early December to select the toys. But the family has not accepted numerous other offers from Aberdeen busineses. After the Fischers moved to their new home, Mrs. (Mary Ann) Fischer, revealed that she still did not like publicity. She complained to a reporter about the people who drove past the house. The vegetation has since obscured the view of the curious. But the traffic continues. The city has built a new bridge and improved the road leading to the Fischers’ country estate, because of the heavy traffic.Residents occasionally catcha glimpse of the youngsterswhen they accompany their mother on shopping trips. But public appearances are few.The Fischers consented to ride in a college Homecoming parade on the stipulation that out-of-town news media not be advised of the appearance.NEW YORK (AP) - M. John V.
