TOKYO, Sept. 11 (SS)—Typhoon June today trailed a lazy but violent path across the Pacific as she aimed at Okinawa some 500 miles away.The big blow was traveling at a sedate eight miles an hour west-northwesterly, but stillpacked a potent wallop of 140-mile-an-hour winds near her center. Weathermen said June would continue in that direction for the next 24 to 36 hours.Tokyo Weather Central located the typhoon 500 miles east-southeast of the island bastion of Okinawa at 6 a.m. today. A spokesman said winds from from June would probably hit the 'island sometime tomorrow.Storm warnings were issued for Okinawa this morning in ' the face of the approaching storm. Air Force weather reconnaissance planes are keeping a constant watch on the huge typhoon.The Central Meteorological Observatory in Tokyo said yesterday June may hit the coast of southern Japan tomorrow or Monday.
