The Spook Explained.The horrible apparation which was seen bv numerous citizens Friday night• • ‘vhas been explained satisfactorily and it did not prove to be a ghost. John Hornbook happened to stop out in tint vard about midnight and saw the horrible apparition as it swooped about the town. Ho summoned Abo Hornlev and they proceeded to investigate. They followed the wraith about town andlinallv discovered it to be a Hook of %many hundred killdeers. These birdswere evidently passing over the city andbecoming bewildered by the electriclights had lost their way. Their whitebreasts and wings gave the Hock theirghostly appearance and the sound ofagony was their plaintive dismal cry.Messrs. Hornbeek and Hernlev werequite close to them once as they sweptnear the ground and are certain thatthey were not mistaken.»
