Martinsburg gets new TV stationMABTXNSBURG, W.Va. (AP) -A new television station that can reach up to i million viewers in West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania began broadcasting Tuesday from a remodeled barn.WYVN-TV, Channel 60, came on the air at 10:45 a.m. with ft test pattern, the Fox Broadcasting Co. logo, and the syndicated show Magnum P.I.,” news Assignment Editor Mark Kraham said.The station then celebrated its start-up with an hourlong live broadcast featuring interviews withpublic officials and a flyby from theVrooa near blimp.Majority owner Ralph Albertazzie expected the station to begin operations earlier this year, but was set back by financing problems.The financial community dried up. Everybody’s scared stiff to do something that the (hank) regulators won't approve of, so they've been very careful about how they invest the bank’s dollars, Mr. Albertazzie said.“That was the biggest hurdle we had to overcome. Fortunately, wewere able to do that, he said.The station is owned by Flying ALimited Partnership, which includes Mr. Albertazzie and 16 partners. WYVN-TV is the only televisionstation based in West Virginia's growing Eastern Panhandle and is the second Fox affiliate in the state.The other is WVAH-TV In Hurricane, near Charleston.Mr. Albertazzie, a retired Air Force One pilot and former state Secretary of Commerce, said other stations in the area weren’t covering the Eastern Panhandle or the surrounding region.I was getting kind of tired watching (former Washington, D.C.,1 wi * '......
