City Duly Timet, jives us the following Information regarding a spec let of animal hitherto unknown on this continent:“8ir John E. Packenbam, an officer fn the English Army, who has been t pending the last vearin Her Majesty's Northern provinces arrived at Fore Buford with an animal of rare beaetv. and never before caught on this continent, nor has it been known till late vears that this species existed in thi9 country. It is of the same family as the giraffe, or camelopard, of Africa, and i* known to nam^alists as the Tygomelia. Tbev are known to inhabit the high table lands of Cashmere and Hindoo Rosb, but ate more fre-Inently seen on the high pecks of the Himalaya [cm n (a in s. The animal was taken when quite young, and is thoroughly domesticated, and fob Iowa its keeper like a dog. It is only four monthsold, and ordinarily stands about five feet high, but is capable of raising its bend two feet, whichmakes the animal seven feet when standing erect It is of a dark brown or mouse color, large projecting eyea, with slight indications of horns growing out.
