► CONCORDLibertarian to run for governorCONCORD (AP) Libertarian Calvin Warburton announced he would run for governor next year even though he knows he lacks party support and his chances of winning are slim.“I shall run as if I am going to win the governor’s race, Warbur-ton said at a news conference Wednesday. “I know the odds are about a million to one, but I don’t know any other way of doing it.’Warburton, HI, was a Republican for more than 50 years before switching to the Libertarian Party in 1091 in response to the Republicans abandoning repeated pledgesto hold the line on taxes, he said.I he seven-term state representative from Raymond said he is against an income tax and favors term limits, lie said he will emphasize minimizing government and limiting spending and taxes.Warburton said he lacks support of Libertarian Party leaders because he supports the business enterprise tax and is against total choice in abortion.Libertarians traditionally believein as little government as possible.Warburton is the first formally announced candidate in the 1994 gubernatorial race.
