Special Recognition Will Be Accorded Civil War Veterans at Van Wert Observance.The committee in charge of the arrangements for the annual observance of Memorial Day, in Van Wert, is revising tin* list of residents, now living, who served with the 1 nion forces in the Civil War, the purpose being to provide transportation for tlio veterans during tho ceremonies of the day. There are only fourteen known living survivors of the Civil War in Van Wert and immediate vicinity, the list including the following :J. L. Crooks, of Van Wert, 809 Elm street; aged 94 years.(J. M. Hall, of Van Wert, 709 South Washington street; aged 99 years.Rev. Lyman T. LeMunyan, of Van Wert, 910 South Harrison street; aged 94 years.A. A. Hurt, of Van Wert; aged 91 years.George W. Torrey, of Van Wert, 710 North Washington street; aged 90 years.Thomas II. Kennedy, of Van Wert, 415 East Main street; aged 90 years.1\ II. Cupp, of Van Wert, 209 North Jefferson street; aged 90 years.Frank Craig, of Van Wert, 220 South Wayne street; aged 90 years.Frank K. Priddy, of Van Wert, 509 South Harrison street; aged 89 years.Charles Davis, of Van Wert, 708 East Main street; aged 88 years.S. M. Baxter, of Van Wert, 929 South Shannon street; aged 88 years.Peter Jacoby, of Van Wert, 939 North Cherry street; aged 87 years.Hon. L. D. Weisner, of Iloaglin township; aged 87 years.James Taylor, of Union township; aged 87 years.The committee requests that in event of omissions in the above listing that communication he made with Donald II. Smith. The plans for the day are for special recognition of all veterans of the Civil War and, it is desired, that all physically able, take part in the ceremonies.
