Ireland of 861 First St., in the South Saskatchewanriver, behind the First St. armouries, was rudely and unexpectedly interrupted by—by—uh—Well, uh. . . . Yes, that is the question today. What was it interrupted try? •According to Mrs. Ireland, * she had taken the poodles for their afternoon swim at 2 o’dock. TJie dogs were cavorting in the water, when the park caretaker shouted foi* her to call the dogs out of the water* quickly, as some sort of monster was swimming towards them.She looked out over the water and saw in the middle of the river a large object on the surface. It had been lloating downstream and then suddenly turned and began' swimming for the dogs. It was dull grey in color and rather thin. Only the head and part of the body was seen.“All I can remember is the big mouth which opened and closed continually,1” Mrs. Ireland informed The News this morning.
