Edith Nourse Rogers, chairman of the veterans affairs committee, and Curtis H. Nance, VA deputy branch administrator, the official opening ceremonies of the modern, fireproof women’s building were conducted at the ruditorium of the Veterans* Administration hospital '^xere Saturday afternoon.A gathering of some 350 persons, a great many of whom are prominent in public life or government medical circles, were in attendance at the exercises which marked the official opening of the new half-miUion-dollar building, designed to accommodate 89 women veteran patients.Although the theme of the talks delivered by the speakers centered on. the important parts that the women veterans have played during the wars in which the nation has been engaged, Rep. Rogers came in for a great deal of praise for the active role that she has filled in making the plans for the women’s building at. the hospital possible of fulfillment.The work of the Lowell congressman was cited by Dr. Winthrop Adams, VA branch medical director; Deputy Administrator Nance.
