Fire Sweeps Plant of Sam P. McCullough; Menaces Entire BlockSeven New Automobiles, Five Used Cars and Several Customers’ Cars Damaged; Daily Ardmoreite Plant Threatened.n's 'idA blaze which for a time threatened an entire business block: of Ardmore, did damage tentatively estimated at upwards of $25,000 last night to the Sam P. McCullough Motor company on North Washington street.Seven new automobiles—Dodge and Plymouths—five used cars and two or three customers’ cars were damaged by the blaze which apparently originated near the roof at the back of the parts department.The entire roof was charred, the shop, shop office and parts departments were badly damaged by the blaze, and the office and showrooms were damaged by smoke and water. The building was owned by Earl Q. Gray. The loss is partially covered by in-surance, McCullough said last night.The building was a mass of flames when discovered. Carl McCullough, an employe, said he left the garage about 7 o’clock -^after opening it to let a trucking company remove three trucks which had been in tlye shop.
