Word was received 'Ihursdayfrom the Federal Communica-8[ns Commission authorizing tah State University to proceed with programming on its fcducationat television channel.a result, KUSU-TV, Channel 12, will go on the air Monday, Dr. Burrell F. Hansen, chairman of radio-television at USU. said.With the activation of the Station, USU will be fulfillingfit assignment made by theFCC in 1962 designating Channel 12 as the television servicerhatmel for this area of Utah.A new transmitter and tower has been constructed on the east side of the USU campusand tested in recent weeks, making ready for the beginning ftf broadcasting.Schedule NotedPrograms for use of schools will he shown from 9 to 10:30a. m. each week day next week. Dunng the following week the station will also broadcast from 1 to 2:30 p. m. with programs for schools and the public. Evening broadcastswill be on the air from 6 to 10p. m. with broadcasts of general public interest, Dr. Han-len said.As an affiliate of the National Educational Television Network. KUSU-TV will carry dis-Unquished programs of artistic merit such as “The Age of Kings” Thursday at 8:30 p. m. On the lighter side of it will present such programs as “The Ragtime Era” with ragtime pianist Max Morath, to be seen Mondays at 7.30 p. m. Local programs will also bepresented featuring activities of the university, talent from local schools and news of community events. Copies of the complete program schedulewill soon lie available on request. *Regular EquipmentReception of Channel 12 willrequire no special equipment or antenna.
