A COUPLE OF NOMINATIONS.Henry B. Atherton Selected for Samoan Land Commissioner.Washington, Feb. 28.—The President today nominated Henry B. Atherton of New Hampshire as land commissioner in Samoa, under the goueral act signed at Berlin June 14, 1880, by the plenipotentiaries of theUnited States, Germany and Great Britain.Herman 8. Slack was nominated for surveyor of customs of the port ot Nashville.
