Winter, |r., son of Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Winter of Lincoln,' Neb. Miss Harmon was graduated June 4 from Monticello college in Godfrey, 111. Corporal Winter attended the University of Southern California and the University of Nebraska. He is stationed at Fort Leonard Wood.Miss Betty Brewenl daughter of Mr. and Mrs.' Cheney C. Brewen, 1330 Crest drive, became the bride of Captain Arthuf-H. LaMontagne, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur J. LaMontagne of Milford, Conn., at an impressive ceremony at 4:30 o’clock Thursday afternoon in the {home of her parents.. The bride attended Monticello college. Captain LaMontagne attended Washington and Lee university and recently returned from'15 months’ overseas duty: in the army air force. He was awarded the Air Medal and three Oak Leaf Clusters.The marriage of Miss Martha Sennett Luscombe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Blackwell Luscombe of Vermillion, O., formerly of Carthage, to Charles Robert Horsburg of Cleveland, O., will take place at 4 o’clock Saturday afternoon in Christ Episcopal church in Huron, O. Miss Luscombe is a granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Logan of Carthage and is a niece of' Mrs. W. B. Post, Miss Maude Luscombe and Mac Logan of Carthage. She is a cousin of 'Dr.* Winfred Post of Eastmorcland, now in military service.Miss Janice Johnson, young daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Johnson of Louisville, Ky., formerly of Joplin, has been visiting Mrs. Johnson’s father, J. J. McClellan, in the Connor hotel. Miss Johnson, who spent three years at Louisville university, is employed by the Curtiss-Wright Corporation in Louisville. Miss Johnson left Friday for her home.The picturesque cadet chapel at the U. S. Military academy at West Point, N. Y., was the scene of the marriage of Miss Margaret Lucile Evans (above), daughter of Mrs. Harry Evans, to Lieu tenant Albert Lambert Bethel, son of Mrs. W. D. Bethel. The wedding took place at 5 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, June 6, following Lieutenant Bethel's graduation. Lieutenant and Mrs. Bethel are visiting relatives and friends here and will leave tomorrow for Fort Belvoir, Va., where he will be stationed.
