Hospital’s Benefit Concert A Success4?' The Forest City Hospital Benefit Concert atBtrosacker Hall on the campus of Case Western Reserve University,brought a standing ovation from the almost capacity afudience when the concertended. The all German-Brahms concert was coordinated by Cleveland's own William Appling on the piano, assisted by pianist Reginald Hubbard.Appling is a member of the faculty of theCleveland Institute of Music, he is chairman of the Music Department at Western ReserveAcademy. His conducting responsibilities include; the Men’s Glee Club ofC.W.R.U. and the WestTHE WEATHER cooperated so beautifully, that the after concert receptionwas hsld in front of Stroeacker Hall amid the beautiful landscaping.Shore Choral. Appling has a master of Arts Degree in music from C.W.R.U.The vocal quartet that presented the concert had the internationally known tenor Set McCoy, bass Richard Anderson, soprano Daisy Newman and alto Doris Mayes.Enjoying the after concert refreshments at the reception held in front of the hall amid the beautifullandscaping were: Mr. and Mrs. William F. Boyd, he was the chairman of the concert committee, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Slaughter, Mrs. Slaughter was the concert co-chairman and she is the president of the Women’s Auxiliary of F.C.H.Dr. and Mrs. Maurice Sachs, Dr. Charles S. Berry, Dr. and Mrs. Donald F. Brittenum, Mrs. U.G. Mason, Mr. and Mrs. Obie Elie, Miss Elizabeth Lam-bright, Mr. and Mrs. JamesD. Nobel, Mr. and Mrs. David Beasley and their house guests Angeles, Mr.Charles C.(author of a recent book, Dr. Zelma Watson George, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Goldman and Mrs. Keith Biggs.
