The target for ticket sales was15,000, and the minimum to hold the drawing was 6,000.“When Tuesday morning came around and we didn’t hit that number, it was very disappointing,” said Keith Powell, vice president of the sports club. “We thought we could be successful, but we just ran out of time.”The extension came as a relief to the sports club, said Powell, because it required approval from the state. Without it, state regulations would have forced the club to cancel the raffle and return $99 to each contestant.The club initially contacted state officials last week after noticing that ticket sales were far from6,000.
