Renta FirmDETROIT FAP) — A Detroit firm which rents apartments in Ann Arbor was ordered Tuesday to shun racially discriminatory policies as the Michigan Civil Rghts Commission handled ts first formal housing-bias case.The Commission ruled that Cutler Hubble Co. acted unlawfully in March. 1964, when it told Bunyan Bryant, a Negro University of Michigan student, there were no units availahle in an Ann Arbor apartment building.In a hearing last month, three white witnesses testified they were shown several available apartmnts in the buildings during the same week Bryant wasrefused.The commission ordered thefirm to cease such practices and to offer Bryant the next available apartment in the building if he wants it.
