At the topof the hill, they looked around and1 when they found the thing was nothollowing them, they stopped to take«, good look. They say the monsterIs huge, an ugly gray, “with eyeslike carlights and an. ugly redmouth filled with teeth that couldcrunch a small hoy in a second.■They did not venture down the hill again. The mon^r stayed on the bank, hall In and hail out of the water, “breathing fire and making sounds'* that stood the boys’ hair on end. Apparently it was waiting for them to come down the hill. After half an hour, it slid back into the water and disappeared. The boys are positive that what they saw was a living creature, not a log as some are trying to say It must have been.“No logs make sounds like that, or come plunging to the bank,** they insist. Adults are going down in _ the evenings to try to see the monster.
