(AN P) — The local organization of UCLA Women will honor Un mediator Dr. Ralph Bunche with a special luncheon, Thursday, July 21, at the Biltmore hotel here. Dr. Bunche was an honor student and athlete at UCLA during his college days.In the meantime Mayor Fletcher Brown issued an official proclamation declaring July 17 Dr. Ralph Bunche day in Los Angeles.Lauding Dr. Bunche for his work with the U. S., for his work in human relations and for his school work in California as an honor graduate of Jefferson high in Los Angeles and UCLA, the resolution said in part:“—As mayor of the city of Los Angeles, I do hereby proclaim Sunday, July 17, 1949, as Dr. Rralph Bunche day in and for the city of Los Anegels, and I call upon all citizens to pay tribute to this outstanding world leader who has brought great honor to this city and this nation by unselfishly dedicating himself to the cause of world peace.
