New /ow-power TV station on airA new televion station greeted Flathead viewers Wednesday as TV-18 formally launched broadcasting on cable Channel 7 and UHF Channel 18 Station owner Thom Curtis ofBillings said TV-18 is among the new genre of community tele vision stations formerly identified as low-power television by the Federal CommunicationCommission.Station manager Bill Madsen said he intends to provide local community programming, including offerings sponsored by local advertisers. The station videotaped portions of Saturdays Lake-to-Lake Kace for rebroadcastHe said sometime later thestation will produce and broadcast local newscasts and programs. TV-18 is now solicitingboth ideas for local programs and previously produced local packages which valley residentswould like to see aired on the stationThe bulk of current programming is from SPN, the Satellite Programming Network.
